Timothy

IntelliTec College is now offering a new Associate of Occupational Studies Automotive Technology degree program, achievable in 19.5 months. The new Automotive Technician AOS degree program will be available at the Pueblo, Grand Junction, and Albuquerque campus locations.

IntelliTec’s Associate of Occupational Studies (AOS) Degree programs have been developed to add fundamental business skills to the technical education students receive through IntelliTec’s comprehensive career training programs. Similar to IntelliTec’s 15-month Automotive Technician certificate program, the Automotive Technician AOS Degree program is designed to teach students the automotive theory and technology necessary to work with brakes, suspension systems, manual and automatic transmissions, climate control systems, emissions systems, and starting and charging systems. Students learn engine performance, as well as how to run and interpret diagnostic and troubleshooting routines. A course on Light Vehicle Diesel Engines teaches students diesel engine function and operation, providing the skills needed to diagnose, test, and service common diesel electronic fuel injection systems, engine electronic systems, and diesel charging and starting systems.

IntelliTec College’s Automotive Technician AOS degree program teaches students automotive theory and technology through interactive learning models as well as traditional classroom instruction. Under the supervision of experienced and dedicated faculty, IntelliTec students learn hands-on skills through on-campus labs, while receiving digital instruction through the Electude e-learning system. The AOS Degree program is a total of 94.5 credit hours, and is achievable in as few as 19.5 months. Graduates of the program receive their Automotive Technician Associate of Occupational Studies Degree, and are prepared to test for national certifications including entry level ASE certifications, the EPA Section 609 Refrigerant Recovery & Recycling certification, and the Pro Cut Train Smart Level 1 certification.

Developed to serve students who desire a full degree program, the Automotive Technician AOS Degree program provides students with general education courses that enable students to develop quality verbal/written communication skills and enhanced critical thinking skills, making them more well-rounded professionals and more qualified job candidates. Required general education courses add an additional 24 weeks to the program length, and include Introduction to Business, Business Communications, and Critical Thinking. All General Education courses may be completed 100% online.
