Mercedes-Maybach has announced the addition of a new very limited S 680 sedan that was designed in collaboration with the late artist, architect, creative director, fashion designer and philanthropist, Virgil Abloh. The 2023 Mercedes-Maybach by Virgil Abloh is a more stylish version of the big sedan, that will be very exclusive, since only 150 units are planned.
The special S 680 is inspired by the Project Maybach electric concept that Mercedes partnered with Abloh and Off-White. The design of the limited-edition model was finalized before Abloh’s death in November 2021.
The Maybach by Virgil Abloh features a unique two-tone color combination with the top portion painted in Obsidian Black and the lower portion getting sand colored paint. Inside the two-tone theme continues with black and sand Nappa leather seats. The interior also gets “Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh” logos on the center console, headrests, door sills and rear cushions. Even the MBUX infotainment system features the Virgil Abloh brand logo.
Buyers will also get a a special custom-made wooden box covered in sand colored Nappa Leather emblazoned with the Mercedes-Maybach and Virgil Abloh logo. The gift box contains a 1/18 scale replica of the limited-edition car, the two car keys and a carabiner hook.
