BRYSON Town, N.C. — A Florida gentleman who aspires to be a business pilot confirmed his expertise in an emergency when he landed a one-engine plane on a four-lane North Carolina highway, missing cars and power lines as he touched down.
Vincent Fraser was flying the plane July 3 when the plane started to eliminate motor energy as he was examining out land he experienced acquired close to a lake. Fraser’s father-in-legislation also was aboard.
“There was nowhere to land so … I feel I told him I beloved him and that I was sorry for putting him in the problem,” Fraser informed The Involved Press.
His father-in-law responded that he beloved Fraser and to do the most effective he could.
“And from there on, I was just like, ’Game on. Let’s get down alive,'” he explained.
He was heading for a river when a freeway, U.S. 19, appeared beneath the plane. A GoPro video posted by the sheriff’s office environment showed the plane sailing in excess of vehicles just before it landed on the road, in which oncoming targeted visitors pulled off to the shoulder to avoid a collision.
Fraser, a previous U.S. Maritime who is at the moment a flight attendant, reported he commenced getting second thoughts about his piloting plans afterward. But the effective landing, alongside with loved ones and community assistance, bolstered his solve.
